Team

A place like Finca la Manga doesn’t just happen on its own. It is recreated every day—through the passion, energy, and care of the people who live here. From the permanent residents to the rotating WWOOFers from all over the world: every face here contributes to the magic of this place.

A brief introduction to our core crew, who form the foundation of the finca, ensure continuity, and keep things running all year round.

I took over management of Finca la Manga in 2019. My path here wasn’t a set plan, but rather the result of a series of happy coincidences: I originally worked as a hiking guide all over the island until I met Rolf. That encounter sparked a new passion for the finca project—and today I make sure everything runs smoothly in this beautiful corner of the world.

From the very beginning, it was important to me to open up the finca and turn it into a place of genuine exchange. That’s why I launched the WWOOFing program. It’s wonderful to see volunteers from all over the world pitching in here and becoming part of our small community.

My goal is to maintain Finca la Manga as a vibrant, sustainable place where guests and volunteers alike feel welcome.

I’ve been part of the team at Finca la Manga since 2024. What fascinated me about this place from the very first moment was the blend of nature and the vibrant sense of community among the people who gather here.

On a finca, there are a thousand things to do at once. To ensure that the colorful daily life doesn’t turn into chaos, I bring my organizational skills to the table. I love coordinating processes and making sure that everything—from WWOOFing accommodations to the community spirit—feels just right.

But structure isn’t everything. Whether our WWOOFers have a question about the schedule or are looking for a hidden gem on the island, I’m always here to listen. It’s important to me that Finca la Manga is a place where you not only feel at home, but truly seen.

When you spend over 30 years in one place, you become one with the land.

Diversity has always been my great passion. Over the decades, I’ve grown the finca’s mango grove to an impressive 1,000 trees. But not all mangoes are created equal: we now have around 30 different varieties, each with its own character and flavor.

Even though I’ve now handed over the day-to-day management to Benjamin’s capable hands, my heart still belongs to the community here. A day without interacting with our WWOOFers wouldn’t feel like a full day to me. That’s why I’m actually always there:

both for lunch together and every evening for a “goodnight hug.” For me, the finca isn’t just a finca—it’s a family with many grandchildren.
